Ruben Dubrovsky

The Argentine conductor Rubén Dubrovsky was born into a Polish-Italian artist family in Buenos Aires and established himself as one of the most fascinating conductors in the field of the baroque and classical repertoire. He is regularly guest at the Musikverein Wien, conducted the opening concert of the Handel Festival Karlsruhe, was invited for concerts at Handel Festival Halle, the Festival ‘Winter in Schwetzingen’, the Pergolesi Festival Jesi, Haydn Festival Eisenstadt, Osterklang Festival Vienna and Styriarte Graz. With the Orquesta Sinfónica y Coro de la RTVE Madrid he conducted Bach’s Christmas Oratorio. Since his opera debuts at the Sächsische Staatsoper Dresden (Incoronazione di Poppea), Palau de les Arts Valencia (Arbore di Diana) and the Opera Bonn (Orlando Furioso) Rubén Dubrovsky is successful in the opera field as well.

 

In the season 2012/13 he conducts the opening concert of the Baroque Festival in Varazdin with Wiener Sängerknaben and Bach Consort Vienna, presenting works by Pergolesi, Durante and Muffat, broadcasted by the Slovenian television. At the Kiel Opera House he has the musical direction of the new production of Handel’s Agrippina. A concert performance of Porpora’s Polifemo is on the schedule at Theater an der Wien. The Musikkollegium Winterthur will present him together with countertenor Terry Wey in a Handel concert. On invitation of the Wiener Kammeroper he will conduct a new production of Handel’s Orlando. In June he will make his debut with Zürcher Kammerorchester and Hilliard Ensemble at Tonhalle Zürich. He returns to Wiener Musikverein with Bach Consort Vienna presenting the program Venezia e Dresda. Concerts in Wroclaw and at Rheingau Festival are scheduled for summer 2013

 

Past opera engagements included Scarlatti's Marco Attilio Regolo at the Schlosstheater Schwetzingen, Tamerlano at Oper Bonn, Giulio Cesare, Rinaldo and Radamisto at Oper Kiel.
