In addition to mastering a very broad repertoire in all genres, from the 18th to the 21st century, Philippe Béran has three areas of expertise: ballet, commentated concerts and cine-concerts.

He is passionate about encouraging children and families to discover music and has developed a new formula of concerts which he commentates and conducts simultaneously, at times inviting the audience to sing. Symphonic music, opera or film music: all of his productions have been highly successful in French-speaking Switzerland. Philippe Béran is also dedicated to his music for young audiences and for ten years was director of educational activities at the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande and the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra. A regular guest conductor at the Grand-Théâtre de Genève and the Opéra de Lausanne, Philippe Béran is also active on the international scene. He was associate conductor at the Opéra de Bordeaux from 1997 to 2000 and works regularly with major institutions such as the Ballet National de Paris, New York City Ballet, Swedish Royal Ballet and the Finnish National Opera.
